Father Raymond H. Booth, 87, a priest of The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester, died on October 15, 2016, at the Sisters of Saint Joseph Motherhouse, following a brief illness.

Father Booth grew up in Saint John the Evangelist Parish, Rochester, and received priestly formation at Saint Bernard’s Seminary in Rochester. On June 8, 1957, Father Booth was ordained a Catholic Priest by The Most Reverend Lawrence B. Casey, Auxiliary Bishop of Rochester. Following priestly ordination, Father served at Saint Mary of the Lake Parish, Ontario, Saint Joseph Parish, Penfield, Holy Family Parish, Rochester, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Rochester, Saint Christopher Parish, North Chili, and Saint Paul Parish, Webster. In June, 1999, Father Booth was granted senior status and became a priest-in-residence at Saint Louis Parish, Pittsford. Additionally, Father Booth served in various Diocesan capacities, including Director of Cursillo and as a member of the Presbyteral Council.

On Monday, October 17, 2016, Father Booth will lie in state here at Saint Louis Church, from 4:00-7:00pm, with Evening Prayer Service at 7:00pm.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016, Father Booth will lie in state here from 9:00-10:00am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, The Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano, Bishop of Rochester, as the main celebrant. Following the Mass there will be a reception in Reddington Hall Gym, then Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue, Rochester.
