St. Louis Pastor Fr. Mitch Zygaldo and Pastoral Associate Stephanie Honz will lead a parish pilgrimage to Mexico! The 6-day journey will take pilgrims to the most important sites of the Catholic faith in Mexico, including the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and the site where St. Michael the Archangel appeared in 1631. The pilgrimage will take place February 5-10, 2025.
Our itinerary includes historic, cultural, and religious sites that will provide insights into the customs and traditions of our neighbors to the south! Led by knowledgeable tour guides, pilgrims will experience Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Taxo, Puebla, Tulpetlac, and Teotihuacan. The trip entails a lot of walking, stairs, and cobblestone roads. Participants must be medically and physically fit for this type of travel.
Pilgrims will learn about the Miracle of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the mysterious codes contained on the Tilma (cloak) of St. Juan Diego (pictured above right), and why the image led to the sudden, mass conversion of 12 million Aztec people. The Tilma is on display in the Basilica of Our Lady of Gudalupe and is as beautiful and as intact today as it was on the day of the miracle in 1531!
