Called to the Supper of the Lamb: Three Meditations on the Eucharist Joint Parish Lenten Retreat features Fr. Kennedy
March 24-26, 2025 at 7 pm at St. Louis
In partnership, St Louis and St. John of Rochester present a joint Parish Lenten Retreat titled Called to the Supper of the Lamb: Three Meditations on the Eucharist with Reverend Robert J. Kennedy. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24, 25 and 26, Fr. Kennedy will present a specific meditation from 9:00 to 10:30 am at St. John of Rochester and from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at St. Louis Church.
The Sacrament of the Eucharist, like all the sacraments, are actions of Christ and his Body, the Church. It reveals and deepens the loving presence of God in us for the life of the world. Called to this sacred and saving banquet, baptized People enter into the real presence, sacrifice, and lifestyle of Christ every time they celebrate Eucharist.
¨ Our first meditation on March 24, Eucharistic Presence, will consider how the Triune God and God’s beloved People make themselves truly present to each other.
¨ The second meditation on March 25, Eucharistic Sacrifice, will reflect on how the sacrifice of Christ and our “acceptable” sacrifices are joined at the center of the eucharistic action.
¨ Eventually, on March 26, we must move outside the eucharistic liturgy into the realities of human life – moving in solidarity with Christ from the Table to the world. We are called to Eucharistic Living.
Light refreshments will be served following the evening sessions at St. Louis.
